Last week of term!

The last week of term is a time for celebrating, reminiscing and getting into the festive spirit. The last academic week of 2022 is no exception; with a non-school uniform day to raise money for Save the Children, and A-Level Celebration Evening just a sample of the exciting events taking place.

Impact Morning allowed students to develop their wider skills, giving them the opportunity to participate in an Elf Run and build paper skyscrapers using tokens as currency to rent stationary items for minutes at a time. Whilst helping students to develop their critical thinking, timing, and team-working skills, students thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.

Our resident Year 10 scientists were rewarded for their contributions towards the Educake Science Challenge, which requires students to answer as many questions as possible. Among the top five students was Jack, who answered a whopping 1048 questions! In second place was Danny, with 385 answers, followed by Ryley (360), Zara (34), Lucy (249), Millie (203) and Hamritha (200). Tupton Hall School encourages students to participate in extra-curricular challenges like this, inspiring them to develop their skills whilst engaging in healthy competitions. The top two contributors won gift vouchers, with other students receiving stationary to mark their efforts.

The last day of school saw students from each of the five houses face each other in a dance-off, performing their routines to a board of judges to determine the winner.

Our students also brought in/created over 400 Christmas cards for our local care home residents sa part of our Cards for Kindness campaign! They have all been delivered to local care homes, The Old Vicarage, Hill House and Smithybrooke, in the hopes of brightening their days and inciting festive cheer. Mr Pateman extends a "special shout out to the Art and MFL faculties for their competitions and Christmas card creations!"

Students weren’t the only members of the school community getting into the festive spirit on the last day of term, with staff dressing up in festive costumes and Christmas jumpers. Headteacher, Mr Knowles, was amongst those in fancy dress, transforming into our very own Albus Dumbledore! Whilst Tupton Hall School might have a different curriculum to Hogwarts, there has definitely been a touch of magic in the air as we all come together to celebrate the end of 2022.
